In collaboration with Yankee Doodle Homecoming, Billerica Access Television, Inc. (BATV)
is hosting a Photo Contest. Whether you are a novice or professional photographer,
we welcome your entry. And best of all, the contest is free!
Submit your photo for a chance to win a $100 gift card!
We're looking for photos that best represent the following themes:
- Entry that best captures the essence of this year’s
Yankee Doodle Homecoming theme “Billerica Through the Years”.
- Entry that best captures a unique use of media during
this year’s Yankee Doodle Homecoming.
BATV encourages all participants to be creative, enjoy the process and submit multiple entries.
But most importantly, BATV wishes all Yankee Doodle Homecoming attendees a safe and fun
Calling all BATV members! We're hosting a members' night at the
Lowell Spinners Game on Wednesday, August 28th.
Check your email for more information on how to reserve your tickets or
look to your US Mail for the paper card you can return to the studio.
Don't forget, BATV will be at the Billerica Recreation Summer Kick-Off from 12-4 today.
We'll be offering demos of some of our VR gear, so if you missed out on checking out VR
at our Open Tech Night last month, this is a great opportunity to come see what
VR is all about and enjoy the other activities that are happening at the event.
We will also be covering the Shawsheen River Watershed Association Plenair Art event at the
Vale Reservation in Andover today from 10-1. The event is open to artists and artists at heart.
Meet at the Ballardvale Commuter Parking Lot (195 Andover Street, Andover, MA) at 10 am if you would like to walk the "gallery of trees" to see artwork by Sharon Lapham and Sue Millman.
More info at https://shawsheenriver.net/events/plein-air-art-on-saturday-july-20-2019-1000-100-vale-reservation-andover/.
Due to the number of staff that will be covering these events,
BATV will be closed today and will re-open on Monday at 10 am.
Typically, BATV closes for a whole week during the summer so we can do routine
maintenance around the building. This year we will not be closing for the entire week.
Please note that BATV will be open from 10-5 on Monday and Tuesday next week,
but we will be closed to the public the rest of the week.
We will resume regular hours on Monday, August 5.
If it's been a while since you've stopped by BATV or if you have never been to BATV and are curious about some of the equipment that we have available, this is the event for you! We've got a lot of really cool new pieces of gear to help you really add that extra something to your production.
Technology that we'll be demoing:
- Our podcasting setup
- Our Virtual Reality (VR) setup
- Our Rhino Gear video slider
- Our new Sling Studio which allows users to create simple or very complex field productions on the fly
This event is free and open to Billerica residents, however in order to use BATV's gear for your own productions, you will first be required to sign up for a BATV membership and take a certification course on the gear that you wish to use.
This tech night is a great opportunity to see some of the new gear BATV has to offer and learn about how it works. Please feel free to bring friends. We hope to see you there!
