JOHN GAGLIARDI

I am very pleased to be the Town Manager’s Appointee to the BATV Board of Directors. I have been a member of BATV since June 1993 when I participated in a summer youth program offered at the prior studio location. Since that time, I would estimate that I have been involved in the production of over 1,500 hours of BATV programming. From hockey games to Town Meetings and Election Debates; from Bernie Hoar Live to Gino’s Holiday Special and Historical Society Auctions; from Yankee Doodle Parades to the Billerica Spelling Bee and Eye on Billerica, I am very proud to have been involved with so many quality programs on BATV.

I am a 1999 graduate of Billerica Memorial High School and a 2003 graduate of Framingham State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts / TV Production. My professional career is in digital media production and management.

I would like to thank the Town Manager for his appointment and confidence in me to serve the Board and the members of BATV in the best possible way.

ELLEN RAWLINGS

My name is Ellen Rawlings and I am honored to be considered for a position on the Board of Directors of Billerica Access TV. This important organization plays such a critical role in our community by allowing all of us to share ideas, to convey information, to teach and to entertain. Each member makes a unique contribution to BATV, and I would welcome the chance to help in the capacity of Board member.

My commitment to Billerica is deep. I served on the Board of Selectmen for 12 years. During that time, one of my most important committee assignments was the Cable Advisory Committee where I was involved in the lengthy process of contract negotiations. I have also served on the Open Space and Recreation Committee, the Green Up/Clean Up Committee and the Scholarship Committee. I am a member of the Library Board of Trustees, Garden Club, the Historical Society and, of course, BATV. I continue to serve Billerica as a Town Meeting Representative.

BARBARA FLAHERTY

My name is Barbara Flaherty and I am seeking re-election to the BATV Board of Directors. I have been involved with BATV for the past 14 years and have found the experience both rewarding and enjoyable. I first became active with BATV in my capacity as Director of Billerica Public Library. I feel that the mission of BATV is very closely allied with that of the library since they are both in the business of free and open access to information for all.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Massachusetts and my Master’s in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. Before my retirement in July of 2011, I co-hosted “Library Lowdown” a monthly BATV show which highlighted the services, programs and collections available at the library. I have served as Vice President of the BATV Board and as President for two terms. I have been past chair of the Producer Grant Committee and I am currently chairing the Strategic Planning Committee.
