Photography Courtesy of Bob Stegmaier Billerica’s Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 47 held their most recent meeting with heartfelt pride and purpose, marking the official installation of their 2025 officers. Held at BATV, the ceremony brought together veterans for a luncheon to honor the individuals who will lead the chapter in the year ahead.
Active BATV member and community leader, Bob Kinsman, was once again installed as Commander of Chapter 47. The ceremony was led with dignity and tradition, as the chapter continues to strengthen its mission of supporting disabled veterans throughout the Billerica community. Following the DAV ceremony, members of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) were also installed into their respective roles. The DAVA has long been an essential support system for the DAV, and their leadership team now steps into a new year of service. Dressed in matching blue uniforms and beaming with pride, the Auxiliary members were sworn into their official roles, as they to continue their ongoing work supporting the families of veterans and enhancing chapter initiatives. This marks a small but proud collaboration for BATV, as our very own Community Outreach & Resource Coordinator, Charlie Smith, was officially installed into the Auxiliary as the new Adjutant, a role similar to secretary. While this may be a new hat, many in the room were already well acquainted with their efforts to support Billerica Veterans, as Charlie has helped coordinate meetings, veteran-centered events and programming with the DAV Chapter 47 since 2023. With both DAV and DAVA officers now in place, Chapter 47 is set for another impactful year of advocacy, fellowship, and community service for Billerica. NEXT DAV MEETING: 9:00am - June 14th NEXT DAVA MEETING: 9:00am - May 17th
