For years, Billerica Access Television (BATV) has been far more than just a television studio. We are an active community resource. A video production facility, a hands-on media educational center, and a vital meeting and event space for local organizations, schools, and residents. From broadcasting town meeting coverage and Billerica high school sports to training the next generation of digital storytellers, BATV is where our community connects.
Like many community access centers across the country, our traditional funding relies heavily on cable television franchise fees. As more Billerica households transition away from cable subscriptions to streaming services, this revenue continues to decline.
Despite these funding cuts, our mission remains unchanged. We refuse to compromise on the services we provide. We want to keep offering the same high-quality media access, public broadcasting platforms, youth educational programs, and community spaces that our town relies on.
