BATV’s Board of Directors has many roles and responsibilities including but not limited to advisement, governance, oversight and support. The Board of Directors is very aware of its responsibility to the community as an independent non-profit corporation as demonstrated by the success of BATV.
Incorporated in 1987, BATV’s first five Board Members were appointed by the Town Administration. Within the first two years of existence, the Board of Directors grew to eleven members. Since then, the governing body has grown to fifteen members; three are elected by the membership, ten are elected by the Board of Directors, one is appointed by the Billerica Town Manager and one is appointed by the Billerica Public School Superintendent. Elections for the Board of Directors occur annually. Each term for a Director, appointed or elected, is for three years. Reorganization of the Board occurs during the Board Meeting following the Annual Meeting of the Membership. Officers of the Corporation include President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. |
