Billerica Access Television’s Annual Meeting of the Membership is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2016; St. Patrick’s Day! If you have not yet RSVP-ed for the Annual Meeting, you can do so by calling BATV at 978.663.2284. The event will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott, 270 Concord Road in Billerica, MA. Hors D’oeuvres and cash bar begin at 6:30 pm; the business meeting commences at 7 pm with dinner to follow. We are pleased to announce that Chris Robarge, Central Massachusetts Field Coordinator for the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, will be our Keynote Speaker. Mr. Robarge is based in Worcester, and has recently been focused on police practices, voting rights, and free speech rights for all, including the poor.
He first became involved as an activist in the battle for marriage equality in 2005. Later, he was a part of the Occupy movement in Worcester, Boston, and throughout New England. He formerly served as vice-chair of the Citizen Advisory Council for the City of Worcester, looking to help recruit under-represented communities into board and commission seats involved in city government. He has also worked with the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts as a Disaster Services Coordinator. In addition to the Keynote Speaker, officer reports and a dinner, the membership will have an opportunity to elect an individual to serve on the Board of Directors. The following individual has been nominated. Monica Mullen Furthermore, those individuals nominated to and elected by the Board of Directors to serve on the Board of Directors will be introduced. The following individuals were nominated. Pamela Anastasi James Dangora, Jr. Greg McClay Moreover, the Billerica Public School Superintendent appointee will be announced.
